Last year on this date:

My husband and I have been really trying to move on but with the passing of two babies this year,
we sometimes get weary.
Sometimes when we sit at holy hour or in bed at night
the tears and sadness just overwhelm us.

Of course two major blessing and miracles happened this year too.
In April 2011 we became unofficial Foster parents of a 10 week old who
has brought more joy to this family than anyone could ever predict!
Then in Sept. 2011, we paid off our house after only 12 years!!!
Yeah for living dept free-
now just need to pay off that 15 passenger van...happening soon!

So, we still intrust our family and fertility to you dear Lord,
knowing your plans are way better than any of ours.
JESUS WE TRUST IN YOU!!!

Mourn with us:

It is with a heavy heart that I need to share that we found out today that the baby didn't have a heart beat.

We went to the specialist for our checkup to see how things were. I could tell by the sonographer's face that things weren't good. The doctor came to break the news and let us know that our baby went to God about 2 weeks ago. We are praying that the passing of this baby goes smoothly with the will of the Father in control.

What I am Grateful for:

1. God for entrusting another soul to our family
2. My husband for supporting me through our craziness
3. My children for being so excited about another baby and sad that it will be awhile till they meet
4. My family and friends for rejoicing and mourning with us
5. The doctors and technicians who never made me feel strange for wanting another baby, and actually being excited for us and this addition to our large family
6. So glad I got to Holy Hour this morning before my appointment...I needed the strength that only God could give me
7.The miracle of faith and friendship happening on my facebook page...it is the most pro life activity I have experienced in a long time~your words have brought me to smiles and tears!

One week ago:

Let's see...One week ago...
I had just run a 10k for Vocations.
Little did I know what God had in store for my week...
I was a size 6 and just cleaned out my closet of old fat clothes...

I was reviewing my week:
1. Holy hour on Monday
2. gym from 5:15-6:15 Tues-Fri
3. appointment for mammogram
4. appointment for sonogram
5. appointment with vascular surgeon
6. go to soccer playoffs for my sons

Little did I know that what I thought was my period...was actually spotting for my unknown pregnancy that we had been praying for all year...

So, on Tues when the Sonographer was checking my supposedly pre menopausal ovaries...she found our precious 6 week old baby!!!

So, no appointment with the vascular surgeon...
So, no going to the gym...
So, no soccer games out in the cold for this little baby...
And lots of spoiling on momma this week as she lays low, plays cards, reads, sleeps, and eats away...

Most of all...bye-bye...size six!!!
Hello maternity clothes!!!

We have an appointment in 3 weeks with a specialist...so please pray for us!!!
My 25th reunion...
Last week...my 10k for VOCATIONS!!!
2 years ago...20th wedding anniversary...6 months pregnant...
boy that camera really adds lbs.
This August...after I lost 37lbs for my daughters wedding!!!
more reunion pictures...

Prayers for me please:

It is a long story and more later:

It is with great joy that we would like to announce that we are expecting a baby around June 26th. As many of you know we have been praying to be blessed with another precious one. On Oct 21st I met with my doctor to discuss pre menopause and infertility signs. He wrote a prescription for a special sonogram to see what shape my ovaries were in. When the tech asked me why I was there and I explained that I was in the early stages of menopause and wanted to have a baby she just kept up the exam. After another sono she said, well, it looks like you are 6 weeks pregnant!!! I was in a rush of excitement.

THE PRAYER PART: I have been spotting for about 3 weeks, no cramps just light spotting. I don't usually have this problem. I went to the Dr and got more blood work and an appointment with a specialist in 3 weeks. All this time we (including the Dr) thought it was me going through pre menopause.

So please keep us in your prayers. We considered waiting a couple of weeks to tell everyone after we heard what the specialist said...but, believing it is our precious baby now as much as in 8 months...we had to share the good news. Also, we are huge believers in prayer...and now is crucial for our precious babe!!! Thanks so much and thanks for all the prayers and support in the past!!!

Wanting a Baby...

THIS IS ME PREGNANT WITH MY 11 POUNDER!!! WOW, I WAS HUGE...

"THY WILL BE DONE"...everyone keeps reminding me..."You have 12 wonderful, healthy children"...everyone keeps reminding me..."Be grateful for what you have"...everyone keeps reminding me..."You are 43"...everyone keeps reminding me..."You might be a grandma soon"...everyone keeps reminding me...."You just lost all that weight"...everyone keeps reminding me..."Twelve is a great number"...everyone keeps reminding me..."Your other kids need you"...everyone keeps reminding me..."Appreciate what you have"...everyone keeps reminding me...and the comments go on and on...

Well, I agree with every single comment...but, deep down inside, I am aching for another baby.

I am trying to figure out if I just let the Will of God be...or if I should continue to beg God to bless us with another...Well, I do...with the understanding that I accept His will and know He has great plans for our family.

I give you thanks Dear Lord, for my husband and my family. Thank you for always doing what is best for us. Help me accept and embrace Your Holy Will in our lives and be the best wife and mother I can be.

PRAYERS FOR THOSE IN LABOR:

I started a site years ago Praying for Women in Labor. It is very important for me to pray for those who are having a baby. Although, it never quit got off the ground.

So, I will continue to pray for all those who want to send me their prayer requests. Just post a comment on my blog or at fatzbinx18@gmail.com . I will post requests on my regular blog asking for prayers for mom's in labor. So it is really just combining two blogs in one.

Here are some of the prayers I find helpful:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to they protection, implored they help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Prayer of Parents for their Children
O Lord, omnipotent Father, we give you thanks for having given us children. They are our joy, and we accept with serenity the worries, fears and labors which bring us pain. Help us to love them sincerely. Through us you gave life to them; from eternity you knew them and loved them. Give us the wisdom to guide them, patience to teach them, vigilance to accustom them to the good through our example. Support our love so that we may receive them back when they have strayed and make them good. It is often so difficult to understand them, to be as they would want us to be, to help them go on their way. Grant that they may always see our home as a haven in their time of need. Teach us and help us, O good Father, through the merits of Jesus, your Son and our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Entrustment of the Family
Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, I come to you to entrust myself, my entire family, and my parish family to your two hearts. I desire to renew the vows of my baptism and place each member of my family through an act of faith, hope and love into loving union with the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. I dedicate myself, each member of my family, and my parish family to the Guardian Angels God has given each one of us. O Holy Guardian Angels, enlighten, guide and protect each one so as to lead us safely home to heaven.
At Fatima, dear Mother of God, you appeared with St. Joseph and the Child Jesus blessing the world. O Holy Family, bestow blessings upon me, my entire family, and my parish family so that we may live the Christ - life. I desire that each member of my family, and my parish family adore always the Most Blessed Trinity and love our God in the most Blessed Sacrament.
Grant peace to each member of my family, and my parish family. Keep each one in the grace of Jesus Christ. Never permit any of my family, or my parish family to stray from the true faith. (For any family member, or parish family member, who has strayed, I beseech you to bind up the wounds, lift up the fallen, restore and keep each of our loved ones in grace. Bid them come back to their Father's true home.) Amen.

A Prayer to St. Gerard for Motherhood
O glorious Saint Gerard, powerful intercessor before God, and wonder worker of our day, I call upon you and seek your help. You who always fulfilled God's will on earth, help me to do God's holy will. Intercede with the Giver of life, from whom all parenthood proceeds, that I may conceive and raise children who will please God in this life, and be heirs to the kingdom of heaven. Amen.

A Prayer to St. Gerard for Safe Delivery
O great Saint Gerard, beloved servant of Jesus Christ, perfect imitator of your meek and humble Savior, and devoted child of Mother of God, enkindle within my heart one spark of that heavenly fire of charity which glowed in your heart and made you an angel of love. O glorious Saint Gerard, because when falsely accused of crime, you did bear, like your Divine Master, without murmur or complaint, the calumnies of wicked men, you have been raised up by God as the patron and protector of expectant mothers. Preserve me from danger and from the excessive pains accompanying childbirth, and shield the child which I now carry, that it may see the light of day and receive the purifying and life-giving waters of baptism through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THE LAST SUPPER...

We finished our last meal...

When I had my 12Th baby it was my first C section. After I got home we started getting meals everyday from my amazing friends and community. We got about 60 meals, yes, two months worth of food.

Not only did it help with not worrying about cooking, but it sure cut back on the grocery bills. So, we had more money to pay for the five different antibiotics I was on!!!

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR THE PRAYERS, FOOD, AND SUPPORT DURING A DIFFICULT POSTPARTUM.

I am back to my old crazy self!!!

THIS IS ONE TIME I DIDN'T WANT TO BE RIGHT!!!

When I have a baby all the kids vote on the date and sex of the baby...This time I was due on Sept 3rd...I looked at the feast days and saw OUR LADY OF SORROWS Sept. 15th...my heart sank...I just knew that was going to be the day...since I am usually late. I hoped I was wrong, but I wasn't. I even got the time correct...1 am!!! This time I guessed boy...out of 12 kids I have only guessed three correct...I know you think I could figure this out?

So four weeks ago I delivered my precious baby boy. I had a really rough month...just ask my poor husband who had to take care of me, the baby, and all the other kids+

This is the first day by myself (I know I am so spoiled) and I actually feel good+ Thank God!!!

GOOD NEWS...BAD NEWS...

I am embarrassed to even give anymore health updates, but here goes. After my incision leaked Sunday night...I was actually feeling better. Monday I went 13 hours fever free! Then come bedtime my chills/hotflashes and fever returned. The good news is they stopped at 2AM in the morning, being the first night in a week they didn't last all night. Woke up Tues feeling good and still fever free! Went to OB at 1 pm for 2 week check up and was told all was well, she squeezed more drainage out of incision and said it looked good. Still no fever and permission to drive!

Left there to take baby to get weighed and check bowels (hadn't pooped in 5 days). Weight was the same for the week...(better than losing), especially after all I had gone through this week. So I will be fattening him up this week. Then the doctor put on gloves put Vaseline on his pinky and gave my baby a little help to loosen his stools. As soon as he pulled his finger out...presto, poop problem solved.

Off to home still feeling good. Then a half hour later my wicked hot flashes/chills came back with my fever. So off to bed feeling like I had all week. Now I have a persistent cough to boot...not sure if I got it from my body temp changing so much ,or picked up a germ at the ER???

It is night and my fever is lower, so good news is coming...I just know it!!!

The Labor story...viewers discretion advised!!!

Labor story:
Sunday 13th (10 days late) started to lose plug!!! Finally something is happening!!!

Got my birthing room all set, bed double made, and stuff lined up for midwifes.

10:30 pm contractions started. Four minutes apart one midwife on the way around midnight and other is coming soon. Went for walk with midwife, husband left sleeping, college age daughter sees on facebook that midwife is coming calls and wakes up father to see I am gone, midwife stuff is here and door open. I am six centimeters; contractions stay four minutes apart with no progression. Other midwife is here and decides to sleep. I try some midwife tricks and a nap. Wake up around 6:30 and kids go to grandma’s thinking Monday is a good day to have a baby, kids all settled and house is quiet. Start walking again, resting, rocking, bouncing, hopping, showering, squatting, Spiderman crawl upstairs, and other tricks…nothing working. Four in the afternoon, I start pushing hard. Push for about two hours, no progression. Very uncomfortable, start pushing again, about 9 cm and I break very strong water…thinking baby will just come down…bad news baby is very happy in bad position. Coming brow first and once water breaks he jumps back up, making me 6cm again!!! I am totally spent and done at this point!!! Lost all strength, physically and mentally!!!

Midwifes have a meeting and decide I have a couple of options:
1. Go to hospital to get epidural and relax
2. Go to hospital and have a c section
3. Go to sleep and try later

It is like 9pm and I totally want to go to hospital and be knocked out and cut open!!! I don’t think they believe me because we drive to hospital-very, very, uncomfortably, with my water dripping all over me, the car, and the emergency room. My sister and midwife come too. They meet with the hospital midwife and they all decide I should take some drugs and relax so I can push later…I am screaming at everyone I see to put a mask on my face, knock me out, and cut this baby out of me. Baby is so happy in weird position, they think I really just need to rest and push later…hump-I have some sensations to kind of push and they cheer me on…I am not impressed, I just want to be cut open. I pretend about 3 more pushes, I am 10 cm dilated but baby is not coming down. They try to break the news to me and tell me I need a c section-duh!!! Hurry up. It is midnight and around one I am cut open, Baby Kolbe is out, I totally want to nurse him…dad is holding him, he screams for about 45min they stitch me back up bring me to my room and I nurse my baby!!! The nurses come in and tell me it is time to take him to the nursery…I say sorry I just got him and don’t want him to have any testing anyway…but they think that being 9lbs 11oz he should have supplements…I laugh-say he is my 12th baby and my last one was 11 lbs!!! They look at me with total surprise, smile and leave. They come back in the morning and take him with daddy for about 45min. I feel like it is endless…ready to come home…stay all day, Rob brings some of the kids…bed is crinkly, pillow scratchy, hospital loud, people keep coming in, I have allergic reaction to duramorph medicine and am itching like crazy…finally take Benadryl, not knowing my itching will get worse…take double dose later, nurses are kind and shocked by me…laugh that there are wanted posters of me around the hospital, because I am so “different” , hence the home labors…8pm have some more guests…sad that hubby will leave me alone with the baby and feel great. Ask over and over again for doctor to come talk with me. Pediatrician checks the baby out and he is great. Nurse comes in and I tell her I want to sign release for me and baby to leave…she is in shock and tries to talk me out of it. Sends in two doctors, I explain that my two midwives have scheduled to visit me for the next two days. I go home. Everyone is mad at me, I have tons of help here and my hubby changes diapers, carries me to the bathroom, and is very helpful. Then my pain med wears off and I am in a ton of pain, I start ibuprofen and alternate with Tylenol. I start feeling better in the morning, very sore tummy. The more I empty my bladder the better I feel.

So it is Friday now…both midwives have come. I am doing fine…still in bed for awhile. My five year old thinks I got it made, “mom everyone is cooking and cleaning for you!!!” My milk came in…lovely new pain.

So much for my beautiful labor story…it is because I am pleased to have this beautiful gift from God next to me. I guess I never should of posted this.

I am so blessed...we have never had so many people praying for us...priest, nuns, seminarians, sisters, families, and friends, as well as total strangers!!! It could of been totally worse!!!

I WON'T DO IT!!!

I got pregnant in December...I wear maternity clothes right away...it is just easier and more comfy...so I wore them in January!!! So, I wore all my winter clothes, then my spring clothes, than all my summer maternity clothes!!! Well, the weather has been beautiful here lately, but getting chilly...my summer clothes are not warm enough. I stood in front of my closet trying to find something to wear yesterday...and just couldn't bring myself to go to the attic and get out my fall maternity clothes!!!
I mean I am eight days late...I just won't do it!!!
Please continue to pray for me and my family as we prepare for labor and our new babe!!!

I'm Late for a very important date...

I wish I could run around like the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland!!! At this point I am pretty much waddling and complaining everywhere I go.

My real official due date was the 3rd...we told everyone Labor day, to give me some extra slack. It is the 9Th and no news, no signs, no baby!!!

Why is it bothering me so much this time? I am always late...I had my second 15 days late and my fifth 19 days late...this time I am so done, it's not a pretty sight!!!

Then when I finally do go into Labor...I will be freaking out about the pain...what a brat I am!!!

So lift up a little prayer our way...especially for my hubby and kids...I keep snapping at everyone.

THY WILL BE DONE!!! +JMJ+

I AM SLOWING DOWN...JUST WHEN THINGS ARE SPEEDING UP!!!

I have about two weeks left of this what it seems, very long pregnancy. I can't wait to sit and cuddle and nurse my precious one.

I pretty much am on particle couch rest...I sit, I do dishes, I sit again, I do laundry, I sit some more, I clean the kitchen, I sit again, I go the bathroom, I lay on the couch, I read the kids a book, I readjust myself on the couch...you get the picture!!!

So as I spent the night getting three soccer schedules (one college, two middle school) and a lax schedule on my calendar I just shook my head at the fall to come...oh, did I mention school with a newborn? Silly me!!! WE start on Sept 8th, Our Lady's Birthday!!! I am not motivated like most of my other friends who already started school...no school before Labor Day in this house...see tomorrow's post!!!

One way to organize our home, especially with #12 due soon is to limit activities. You wouldn't know it by my calendar...but we usually don't let our younger kids do extracurricular (out of the house) activities. Especially sports. Not that we think sports or other things like ballet are bad...we just need to limit what the kids are doing and all the running around!!! We usually start at about 9 or 10 pending on the season or the sport.

Gotta go...it is time for my sitting routine to start!!!

FAT, LOUD, AND PREGNANT is no way to go through life...

These are not pictures of my stomach...

I am at that point of my pregnancy where I am so big, snoring loudly all night, and getting nervous about delivery !!!

My maternity tops are starting to ride up and my pants ride down. I have never looked too hot in a midriff. Come to think of it, I don't think I ever wore one.

I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow, and from what I hear from my better half...I have been snoring up a storm...then I get up to go to the bathroom and can't get comfy again...so off to the couch to try and fit my tummy into a comfy spot.

I know this may sound as a surprise to some but I don't enjoy or have easy labors. I am getting really nervous about being in pain, which makes me anxious, which makes labor even worse.

So say a little prayer for me and I will keep you posted when it is time for the big day, so you can all really start praying!!!

THE OLD GRAY MARE, SHE AIN'T WHAT SHE USED TO BE!!!

My husband embracing life!!!
Kitty Hawk 07 when I went to the beach 9 months pregnant...

The old gray mare

My 20th high school reunion

Expecting #12 renewing my 20th wedding vows!!!

As I lay prostrate on the couch at 7pm my husband and I laughed at the many years ago, 15 to be exact, when I was pregnant with my fourth child, my first summer pregnancy.

My husband said, boy were you "hot" back then...tan, in great shape, and mowing the lawn. Now 15 years later, I am 41 and expecting my 12Th child. I can barely walk and I am far from "hot", except my body temperature.

I can't help but be grateful for this pregnancy. I have lots of friends and relatives who are either infertile, are dealing with secondary infertility, or would love to have another child. I don't really feel old, and many people I know, go through great lengths to have a child.

So I will keep being happy with my pregnancy's and thank God I am so healthy and my husband is so great!!!

This old grey mare is better than she used to be!!!

Home Birth!!!

This is not my stomach...just a famous pro life photo...my stomach has lots...and lots of stretch marks!!!

WE are very excited that our insurance is paying for us to have a home birth again!!!

Home births are not for everyone. Our nurse midwives are certified and are VERY cautious about who gets to deliver at home.

Our first child was born in a hospital, the next seven at home, then #9 at the birthing center (insurance!), next at home, then #11 our 11 pounder at the birthing center. By far we enjoy the comfort of our own home.

Thank God I have had very healthy pregnancies and deliveries!!!

If you want a good laugh read my husband's blog from last June on Home births.

BTW...I don't enjoy being pregnant or labor!!!

Advice for new moms...

Just read a great article here for moms dealing with newborn blues...?(there is great advice in the comments section...)

My advice:
Just hold on tight and pray in your state in life...like when your nursing or doing laundry. Beg for the desire to love infancy!!! I love the fact that we can use the internet so positively...There is so much support here!!! I am expecting my 12th and have always wanted a big crazy family. I do have to confess...I love infancy and I am a morning person...although come 7pm I am out of it. I have a friends who don't like infancy and the good news is that many will have a stage that they will love and be good at. That is why we need to support each other and help out IN ANY WAY we can...who knows you may be the world's best mom of teenagers...then I will send mine over to you!!!

Keep up the great work!!!
