On the Reading of Holy Scripture:
...listen meekly to what the Saints tell you. Do not be critical of the sayings of the ancient Fathers, for they were not written without reason.
My only thoughts to this is the treasure the Church is to us. The many charisms, movements, orders, and gifts it gives to us.
Once at a women's retreat I was given the comment that the talk was very much like the "movements" in our area. The holy priest and I just looked at each other and said, "that is what many movements are about" good old teachings and traditions of the early church Fathers. Simple acts of piety like prayer and frequent uses of the sacraments help us grow closer to Christ.
